Hey y’all!
Welcome to SouthernGirl on the Run!! This blog is something I have been wanting to
do for quite a while! It
seems like I’ve been on and off the "losing weight” bandwagon for most
of my adult life. But over the last year or so my focused has changed from “losing”
and watching that ho’bag of a scale regularly to becoming fit & healthy and
paying more attention to what goes in my
mouth and being sure I move my tail on a regular basis. It is
hard y’all to stay consistent, committed and focused but I do
believe that I’ve finally got somewhat of a grip on it right now!
My hope is this blog will keep me that way!

In the days of social media it seems we
learn alot about a person just through the posts they make, the captions they share and even the
pictures they post. Would you wanna know a little
more about me? No? Great, moving along!!
#Sorrynotsorry
Who am I?
Born and raised in the beautiful Volunteer
state of TENNESSEE!!!! Die hard, to the bone,
even when they suck,
Tennessee Vol Fan! We bleed orange in our house but we still welcome
our friends that aren’t quite as smart as we are! KIDDING!!
Poor Tennessee, they gotta lotta
work to do but no matter #GBO #VFL
I turned 41 in March and I'm totally okay with that!!! I feel better thank I did in my 30’s. I know that is because I am taking better care of myself as far
as my body goes but also because I'm taking better care of my mind & spirit! Deep huh??
LOL whatever! I’m so not that
serious of a person!
Really though, I wish I had made the
changes I have in the last year, ten years ago!!
Married and every day I fall in love all over again to the LOVE of my life and my best friend going
on 22 years of marriage and we've been together for 24 years. I could use
this whole post to tell you what an amazing man and Daddy he is and how I truly believe that we each have
a soul mate, but I'll save that for another post.
MOM to this beautiful blue eyed girl, Lord have mercy, by far she is the best thing I've
every done! I'm blessed that God chose me to be her Mama!
My Sammie girl aka Pineapple (her Daddy's nickname for her )
This girl brightens every single second of every single day for me. Her happiness is what I want, hope and pray for constantly! I am so proud of the loving, kind and selfless young
woman she has become! She has such a sweet soul!
I’m a licensed insurance agent,
independent AdvoCare distributor (these products
are Aaaamazing! More on that later) and a lover of EVERYTHING outdoors!! I love
to duck hunt, deer hunt, squirrel hunt and fish. The hubs and I do all of these things
together and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
The family that plays together stays
together! Gimme a little camo , a lil’ paint
on my face, a
muzzleloader in my hand
and I feel like one bad mamma jamma!!!
and I feel like one bad mamma jamma!!!
If it floats, I’ll get on it. I would spend every day, all day laying on a boat
out on the water.
Put a cold beer in my hand some tunes on
the radio and I’m probably the happiest person alive in that moment! I am so glad that summer time is almost
here. Though I’m sure here in about a 6
weeks I’ll be fussin’ because we won’t be able to cut the humidity with
a butter knife (and yes I say that as in - n”eye”f) I’ve been known to sound "hickafied” from
time to time. Kinda like “warshing” dishes, ya know?
7 months ago, I became the Aunt to this
handsome little fella. He has brought so
much joy to our family! . He has no idea just how much I love him!! Long
story short, I was almost 16 when his beautiful Mama was born. So
for “my baby” to have her first baby has been an amazing experience and seeing her
with him and seeing what an amazing mommy she has become are
memories that I will cherish forever!
I've been known to plan a party or ten! I'm our family planner with birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, a anniversary party and I've planned 2 weddings in the last four years for my brother and sister picture above. Though it was stressful and I'da probably been crazy if not for my mother's help, I would do it over again tomorrow. Being a part of that special time was such a blessing for me.
Probably more information than most wanted
to know but I have such a blessed life that it’s hard not to share as much as
possible! I hope you will continue to follow along on this
journey of mine. I’m counting on this to
be my accountability but also my outlet to share the things that are working for me, the things that
are not and also the days that I chose to eat a few slices of pizza and drink a
few beers. Because I promise you this country girl ain’t perfect and I will
never claim to be! I’ll keep it real,
try and keep it fun and share all the mess the in between!
Hope y’all have a great day!!
